What does it mean in the update notes when it says nicolas the traveler is no longer depressed? Or when it says hes brushing on his language skills?

is a nice way to say that was resolved a bug and now when you interact with Nicholas he tells correctly you what does he needs

At first Nicholas didn't have the required text to tell people what items to get and why. So they did an update "Nicholas is no longer depressed" as now the correct text would show.

I assume there was another error where Nicholas was not showing the correct text when viewed with other languages which was fixed and they updated with "Nicholas is brushing up on his language skills".

So it is just amusing ways to say they've fixed a few minor problems.

It's called a sense of humour yo...apparently some people don't get it.It problly means better translations and reaction times to his dialogues.
